The Old Town School of Folk Music, in partnership with Marcos Oliveira and Swing Brasileiro, presents another night of Brazilian music and dance in recognition of Brazilian Independence. Artists will include renowned faculty at the Old Town School and special guest artists celebrating the enormous diversity of music and culture in Brazil.

Once a month we show a Brazilian movie at our school, followed by a discussion about what we saw.
Book Club
Join our book club, get your free copy of great Brazilian and Portuguese literature and be part of your discussions.
Dance Workshop
Thanks to our partnerships with Brazilian dance instructors, we offer workshops in Samba, Forró, Axé and other Brazilian rhythms.
Cooking Class
Learn the recipe, cook it us and savor a Brazilian feast, one dish at a time!
Cultural Trips
Travel through Brazil and Portugal without leaving Chicago. Every month we pick a different region of a Portuguese-speaking country and take you there through a fascinating journey with videos, pictures, music and food.
